Outpatient Therapist
Location: Mundelein, Hyde Park, Lake County
Job Summary
The Outpatient Therapist is responsible for performing a variety of client care and administrative and functions in any program of the agency in accordance with state law and the Illinois Department of children and Family Services (DCFS), Sexual Aggression Program (SAP.) The Outpatient therapist provides specialized services for assigned caseload; conducts specialized SAP assessments, conducts individual and group therapy and when appropriate, family therapy. The Outpatient therapist has the responsibility for maintaining communication with the referral source, community-based liaisons, court systems, and other human service providers as related to the youth’s ongoing treatment.
Qualifications
MSW/MA/MS/PhD/Psy.D from an accredited school | |
LSW/LCSW/LPC/LPC/LCPC/LMFT or licensed psychologist | |
Must be at least 25 years of age | |
Demonstrated experience with emotionally disturbed children and adolescents | |
Preference is given to individuals with experience in juvenile sex offender specific treatment | |
Must maintain current certification in CPR, PART and First Aid | |
An ability to pass DCFS licensing requirements for background and fingerprinting |

Excellent verbal and written communications skills | |
Crisis intervention and stabilization skills | |
Evaluation and assessment skills | |
Maintains effective communication with community agencies | |
Demonstrated knowledge of the sexually abusive youth as evidenced by passage of agency’s nine clinical competency exams | |
Works effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team |
