Community Based Services Therapist – SOC (2)

Grade VIII, Salaried

Provides in-home therapy and case management services to children and families.  Qualifications:   Masters degree in Social Work or related field (LCSW or LCPC preferred). Experience and/or training preparing one to work with youth and families in their own homes.   Strong interpersonal skills; strong written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively relate to children, families, community agencies, and referral sources; ability to work independently and as an active team member; demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in children and families served; ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner.   Hearing and speaking ability, which allows for effective oral communication of information, physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job-related issues; ability to transport self to various locations. 

Overnight Worker – SILP, Residential (16 hours/week)

Grade I, Hourly

Provides awake, overnight coverage in one or more of the agency’s out-of-home placement programs during normal sleeping hours of residents; ensures care, welfare, safety and security of clients on third shift. Qualifications: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.  Related experience preferred.  Child care skills, dependability; ability to work objectively with disturbed children; ability and judgement to work independently; demonstrated maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in children and families served; ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner. Must be at least 21 years of age to meet DCFS requirements; if residents in the program are female, then the overnight counselor must also be a female in order to meet DCFS requirements; ability to remain awake while residents are sleeping and the unit/home is quiet; vision, hearing and speaking ability which allows for effective communication; ability to physically restrain residents as needed, physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related issues and stress.  Valid driver’s license and ability to transport self and clients to various locations; ability to pass DCFS driving requirements.

YASI Assessment Worker – Youth Development Services

Grade VI, Salaried

Conducts the Pre-YASI assessment and initial intake interview with all youth referred to the program.  Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, or related field; as well as experience working with emotionally/behaviorally disturbed youth and their families.  Effective oral and written communication and problem solving skills; strong interpersonal skills; dependability; ability to relate to youths, families, and community agencies/departments; ability to work independently and as an active team member; demonstrated maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in children and families served; ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner.  Speaking and hearing ability to allow for effective oral communication of information; ability to transport self and clients to various locations; physical and emotional stamina to handle job-related issues.

SILP Educator – TLP

Grade IV, Hourly

Works directly with clients to provide for their care, welfare, safety, security and protection of their rights in accordance with individual service plans, the program plan, and applicable licensing/accreditation standards; provides therapeutic services in accordance with agency mission, residential treatment philosophy and program goals. Equips clients with the necessary tools for successful emancipation.  Qualifications:  High School Diploma or equivalent; college credit and one year of related experience preferred.  Child care skills; dependability; ability to work objectively with disturbed children; ability and judgment to work independently; demonstrated maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in children and families served; ability to handle job-related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner.  Must be at least 21 years of age to meet DCFS requirements; ability to remain awake and alert while on shift; vision, hearing and speaking ability which allows for effective communication of information; physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related issues and stress; valid driver’s license and ability to transport self and clients to various locations. 

TLP (PP) Educator -  SILP (2)

Grade IV, Hourly

Works directly with pregnant and parenting youth to provide for their care, welfare, safety, security and protection of their rights in accordance with individual service plans, the program plan and applicable licensing/accreditation standards; provides therapeutic services in accordance with agency mission, philosophy and program goals.  Assists youth with the skills to be successful at parenting and utilizing community resources.  Equips clients with the necessary tools for successful emancipation.  Qualifications:  High School Diploma or equivalent; college credit and one year of related experience preferred.  Child care skills; dependability; ability to work objectively with disturbed youth; ability and judgment to work independently; demonstrated maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in youth and families served; ability to handle job-related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner.  Must be at least 21 years of age to meet DCFS requirements; ability to remain awake and alert while on shift; vision, hearing and speaking ability which allows for effective communication of information; physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related issues and stress; valid driver’s license and ability to transport self and clients to various locations.

TLP (PP) Overnight Worker – SILP

Grade I, Hourly

Must be at least 21 years of age to meet DCFS requirements; ability to remain awake while residents are sleeping and the unit/home is quiet; vision, hearing, and speaking ability which allows for effective communication of information; physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related issues and stress. Valid driver’s license and ability to transport self and clients to various locations.

Mentor – MHJJ Program

Temporary, Part-time

Acts as a positive role model and provides supportive services to youth in the program to aid the youth in remaining/re-enrolling in school or in attaining employment, complying with probation/court orders, and improving conflict management skills.  Qualifications:  Minimum high school education with practical experience with adolescents.  College coursework in human service field preferred.  Strong interpersonal skills; written and oral communications; effective interpersonal skills; maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in youth and families served; ability to work independently; ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner.  Speaking and hearing ability to allow for effective oral communication; ability to transport self and clients to various locations; physical and emotional stamina to handle job-related issues.

Maintenance Associate

Grade IV, Hourly

Maintains agency facilities and grounds.  Qualifications:  High school education preferred; previous maintenance experience and/or specialized training in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc.  Ability to basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, yard care, etc.; effective time management; ability to work independently and in a project team; ability to read and follow directions; ability to exercise sound judgement when using tools, equipment and chemicals.  Must be able to read written instructions; must be able to communicate well in writing or speaking; ability to lift at least 50 pounds; ability to stand and walk most of the working day; physical body dexterity to allow for bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, etc. when moving, lifting, or installing equipment, appliances, furniture; ability to work in various temperatures and seasonal conditions; ability to transport self and equipment and tools to various agency locations.

Therapeutic Stabilization Worker – BHS

Temporary, Part-Time

Works in coordination with community ICG program.  Therapeutic Stabilization workers will assist the clients in learning skills to enable them to participate in age appropriate normalizing behaviors in their communities.  Qualifications:  Masters degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Education or related field.  Interpersonal and professional skills to provide services to the child and family (empathy, warmth, concern, pleasant and positive attitude, effective listening skills, non-judgmental attitude, conflict resolution skills, behavior management skills); strong written and oral communication skills; ability to relate effectively with youths, families, community agencies and referral sources; ability to work independently and as an active team member; demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in children and families served; ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner.  Speaking and hearing ability to allow for effective oral communication of information; ability to transport self and clients to various locations; physical and emotional stamina to handle job-related issues.

Teacher AssistantKiefer Academy

Grade III, Hourly

Assists teacher with classroom activities, to ensure academic and behavioral functioning of students, maintains professional boundaries and demeanor.  Qualifications:   Thirty hours of college credit required and/or Teacher Assistant Certification; classroom experience strongly preferred.  Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in students and families served; effective oral and written communication skills; ability to work within a treatment team.  Hearing and speaking ability which allows for effective oral communication of information; ability to physically transport self to various locations; physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related issues and stress; ability to restrain students.

Residential Counselor – Challenger, Freedom (3), Atlantis

Grade V, Hourly

Works directly with clients to provide for their care, welfare, safety, security and protection of their rights in accordance with individual service plans, the program plan, and applicable licensing/accreditation standards; provides therapeutic services in accordance with agency mission, residential treatment philosophy and program goals. Grade I, Hourly

To maintain cleanliness of buildings and to maintain floor finish. Qualifications: Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions. Previous experience is desirable. Ability to organize time and work independently, ability to work cooperatively with others; adaptable and willing to perform a variety of tasks assigned; speed in work, flexibility in scheduling, ability to use sound  judgment when using equipment and chemicals; ability to work around emotionally and disturbed youth. Ability to read written instructions; ability to carry out oral instructions; ability to stand and walk most of the working day; physical dexterity to bend and reach; ability to lift at least 50 pounds; ability to push, pull and lift housekeeping machines.
