Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in the behavioral/social services and two years child welfare experience required. Must demonstrate a sincere commitment and ability to advocate for troubled youth. Must be State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Licensed Direct Child Welfare Services Employee. Knowledge and experience with the Family Teaching Model or Social Learning Theory preferred.

Duties
1. Report to the Treatment Supervisor.
2. Completely understand and follow all agency policies and procedures.
3. Must successfully complete foster care preservice training and consulation training.
4. Assist with coordination and presentation of preservice and advanced workshops.
5. Serve as Primary Community Support Program Worker for a caseload of up
to 21 traditional and specialized foster care clients.
6. Provide Technical Consultation in the Family Teaching Model to Treatment
Parents.
7. Review youth intake information/case history and interview youth to determine most appropriate placement.
8. Develop youth’s Initial Service Plan with foster parents, advocate, and significant family members within time frame designated by IDCFS.
9. Meet with the youth according to IDCFS policy.
10. Meet with treatment parents weekly to provide technical consultation and support and to review youth progress.
11. Coordinate and monitor services for youth obtained in the community.
12. Facilitate family reunification efforts with the youth’s family or other permanency plan as defined by the service plan.
13. Complete all required reports and submit to appropriate party within defined time frames.
14. Assign and monitor advocate services to youth.
15. Coordinate sibling and parental visits according to service plan.
16. Provide 24 hours per day, 7 days per week on call crisis intervention and consultation services to assigned foster homes.
17. Cooperate with licensing specialists and support staff to insure adherence to licensing requirements.
18. Participate in the Quality Assurance Activities of the Youth Advocate Program.
19. Represent the agency in court proceeding as required by IDCFS policy.
20. Perform other duties as requested.
