ACTIVITY LEADER – PART TIME - 15 HOURS PER WEEK
Activity Leaders work part time in Proviso, Austin or Cicero area schools in an after school program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: planning, development, implementation and evaluation of creative program services, facilitating activities that engage, reward and maintain youth involvement, direct tutoring and homework assistance. In addition, staff must also maintain accurate records in accordance with project guidelines and grant requirements including but not limited to, attendance, lesson plans and progress reports and assistance with special event and field trip activities as scheduled. Must also attend all scheduled staff trainings and meetings. Qualifications: Associate's degree (A. A.) preferred, or equivalent from two-year college; one year related experience working with youth. Must have access to reliable transportation. Background in community/social work is strongly preferred.
Activity Leaders work with elementary school children. The hours for this position will be late afternoon (after school hours).
ASSESSMENT WORKERS- PART TIME – 20 HOURS PER WEEK
Assessment Workers will be responsible for administering an intake assessment for youth entering drug treatment services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: interviewing participants using the GAIN-I assessment instrument, maintaining client records, and working with network partners to increase client engagement through outreach efforts. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a Human Service Field preferred, experience in a counseling setting / working with adolescents required. CADC / clinical licensure, training in substance abuse, and GAIN certification strongly preferred. Must have ability to work with diverse group of people and hold a valid Illinois driver’s license with access to an insured vehicle and maintain a clear driving record.
BILINGUAL CRISIS INTERVENTION
COUNSELOR
Crisis Counselors work with police departments to provide crisis
intervention services to schools, families and youth in the Pilsen community.
Services include but are not limited to: counseling to youth and families,
advocacy services, Community Wrap Around, and stabilization services.
Qualifications: BA or BS in Human Service field, CADC a plus, prior experience
in group, family and individual youth counseling. Excellent communication and
written skills are essential. Must be willing to work a schedule which requires
one evening per week and one weekend per month on call. Bilingual
English/Spanish required and must have familiarity with Pilsen community. Must
be a licensed IL driver with access to an insured vehicle and maintain a clear
driving record.
Case Manager – Transitional Living Program
Case Managers needed for a new transitional living program servicing adolescent wards of the state preparing them for adulthood by providing housing, assistance and advocacy. The Case Managers will provide counseling, employment, educational and life skill training to residents, prepare and present individual service plans and attend ACRs, provide documentation and testimony in court, maintain confidential case files, schedule medical appointments and maintain medical records for residents and provide transportation for residents as needed. Qualifications: Masters degree in Human Service field, Social Work preferred, minimum of 1 year experience in case management working with at risk adolescents. Should be knowledgeable of DCFS polices, procedures and regulations. CWL and SACWIS trained. Must be a licensed Illinois driver with an insured vehicle and maintain a clear driving record.
OUTREACH WORKER - Chicago Project for Violence Prevention
The Outreach Worker will be responsible for working with community residents, businesses and community-based organizations to implement Cease Fire: The Campaign to Stop the Shooting by building a relationship with the youth, residents, businesses and community groups, advocating for the youth through court testimonies, organizing responses to shooting, developing networks with outreach program workers to coordinate an inclusive an strategic response, serving as a linkage and support to the youth to enhance their use of opportunities and programs in the community, identify and diffuse “hot spots” for shootings and violence. Hours: 2p.m.-10p.m. varied days; Sat 4p.m.-12 a.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are required work days. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent,
experience working with at risk youth and gang members, excellent communication skills,
experience or training in crisis intervention, knowledge of Chicago communities, Must have ability to work with a diverse group of people and be a licensed IL driver with access to an insured vehicle and maintain a clear driving record.
*No pending criminal cases or prior convictions for sexual assault, child abuse or domestic violence.
OUTREACH WORKER Intensive Stabilization Program
Outreach Workers needed for a new Intensive Stabilization program servicing at risk adolescent wards of the state. They will provide street outreach to locate chronic runaways, as well as counseling, life skills training, outreach to families, friends and acquaintances of the youth, assistance with school, employment and basic necessities including transporting youth as needed. Qualifications: BA or BS in Human Service field required, bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required, CERAP and DCFS licensure preferred but will train, should be knowledgeable of DCFS regulations, must have availability to work flexible hours and shifts including overnights and/or weekends, must be a licensed Illinois driver with an insured vehicle and maintain a clear driving record. Must have previous experience working with at risk youth as well as providing street outreach services.
PREVENTION SPECIALIST
Prevention Specialists work in elementary schools on the west and northwest side
of Chicago implementing a substance abuse prevention program. Responsibilities
include but are not limited to: networking with local school system, developing
and implementing curriculums for designated schools, recruiting students through
the local schools, training, career development etc. Qualifications: BA or BS
degree in related field preferred, 1-2 year’s experience working with youth in a
community or school setting, training in curriculum development and substance
abuse. Excellent communication skills are essential. Must have ability to work
with diverse group of people and be a valid licensed driver with access to an
insured vehicle and maintain a clear driving record.
RESIDENTIAL ADVISORS – Transitional Living Program – FULL TIME
Residential Advisors needed for a new transitional living program servicing adolescent wards of the state preparing them for adulthood by providing housing, assistance and advocacy. The Residential Advisors will provide counseling, employment, educational and life skill training to residents, supervise the day to day milieu assisting residents as needed, refer residents to services as needed, collaborate with case managers in reviewing and planning residents individual service plans and provide transportation for residents as needed. Qualifications: Minimum of an Associates in Human Service field, Social Work preferred, and/or a minimum of 3 years experience working with at risk adolescents. Should be knowledgeable of DCFS polices, procedures and regulations. Must be a licensed Illinois driver with an insured vehicle and maintain a clear driving record.

SUPERVISOR – Transitional Living Program
Supervisors needed for a new transitional living program servicing adolescent wards of the state preparing them for adulthood by providing housing, assistance and advocacy. The Supervisors will manage the day to day operations and management of staff at assigned locations. Program staff will consist of one case manager and ten residential workers. Supervisor will assist in the hiring, training, and evaluation of staff, be accountable for program planning, monitoring program effixacy by maintaining data bases, providing supervison and facilitating team meetings. They will assume case responsibility as needed and will need to be available to respond to emergencies as they arise. Qualifications: Masters in Human Service field required, MSW preferred, CWL and SACWIS preferred but will train, should be knowledgeable of DCFS policies, procedures and regulations, must have a minimum of one year superviusory experience and minimum of two years experience working with at risk adolescents. Must be a licensed Illinois driver with an insured vehicle and maintain a clear driving record.
TREATMENT COUNSELOR
Treatment Counselors work with youth referred to our agency from a variety of sources. They develop and monitor treatment plans for clients, provide individual, group and family counseling, and conduct home or school visits as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a Human Service Field and experience in a counseling setting / working with adolescents. CADC / clinical licensure, training in substance abuse, and bilingual Spanish /English preferred. Must have ability to work with diverse group of people and hold a valid Illinois driver’s license with access to an insured vehicle and maintain a clear driving record.
