RESPONSIBILITY: Participates as a member of the teaching/social work team in developing the plan for families served by the Child and Family Development Center. Administer a classroom working directly with children to implement the educational plan within a developmentally appropriate program.
JOB DUTIES: 1. Creates and maintains a developmentally appropriate learning environment. Plans and implements a daily experience which addresses the needs of individual children through specific strategies with the group. 2. Conducts intake, developmental assessment and develops an Individual Educational Plan for the child within the context of the family’s treatment plan. Maintains all necessary records of client service and provides statistics and reports as required. 3. Works collaboratively with social workers, other departments, consultants, teachers, support staff, extended family, other agencies and disciplines to strengthen the family client. 4. Familiarize him/herself with each enrolled child’s developmental level in order to develop teaching strategies to address their unique needs in a team approach. Provides documentation for specific cases as designated by the Program Director. 5. Ensures all children’s environments reflect sound child development and early childhood education knowledge and practice in partnership with the teaching staff. 6. Assigns, trains and evaluates all staff working with children within own classroom (teachers, assistant teachers, teacher aides, student teachers, other professional in training, parents, caretakers, work-study students and volunteers). 7. Responsible for the physical care and coordinates the various aspects of the total service as they effect the child’s daily school life. Maintains the organization, physical order and supplies of the various areas utilized by the children. 8. Administers a classroom budget and requisitions or purchases supplies as needed with approval of the Program Director. 9. Plans and conducts Center wide parent events, parent meetings and individual family conferences. 10. Works cooperatively with other agency staff, board members and the community at large. This could include but not be limited to consultant, conference presenter, and writer of professional articles. 11. Lead teachers will be responsible for the Center’s operation as a whole when the Program Director is absent.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Education or certification as a Child Development Associate, 04 Certificate preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years teaching experience and two years supervisory experience. |

RESPONSIBILITY: Provides transportation to and from the day care in addition to special program activities,
routine care and supervision to children in the CFDC school program.
REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalency. Minimum one (1) year experience in working with children
and a valid driver’s license.
