Chief Behavioral Health Services
The Hope School (THS), a nationally recognized private educational and residential facility for children between the ages of 5 to 21, is seeking candidates for the position of Chief, Behavioral Health Services. The Chief supervises clinical psychologists and behavior analysts in the provision of evidenced-based services to youth with multiple disabilities. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong vision and knowledge of state-of–the-art services and possess the leadership skills to support continued quality improvement. Academic appointments are available through THS affiliations with the University of Chicago and Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Research opportunities supported and active participation in THS Training and Research Institute encouraged.
Preferred qualifications include Ph.D. and license-eligible
in Illinois. The individual selected must have the ability to lead and
supervise clinical staff in and conduct psychological evaluations, design data
collection systems, complete Functional Analysis of target behavior, and train
parents, professionals and paraprofessionals.

Travel and expenses are provided for two major conferences per year, as well as membership fees for one professional organization.

The position offers unique access to patient populations, clinicians, and investigators with wide-ranging expertise, as well as state of the art technology. Current services research being conducted includes school consultation, model intensive mental health programs, and diagnostic and treatment of autism spectrum disorders. Collaborators in the newly formed Training and Research Institute include established investigators with diverse interests in child and family behavior, child development, PTSD, and risk and resiliency. This is an exciting opportunity for an established clinician and administrator with or without research interest. Eligible candidates may come from a wide variety of disciplinary backgrounds, including child psychology, human development, behavioral pediatrics, or school psychology. More important than their formal training is experience with, and enthusiasm for, collaborative multidisciplinary treatment and advancement of science. Experience with successful mentoring of junior clinicians or investigators is a priority.
