Social Service Worker:

v Full Time

v $23,000 - $27,000 per year with fringes based on educational skills and experience

v Need to be filled by August15, 2006

Qualifications:

High School Diploma, college preferable
Nutrition & Food Sanitation Certification
Skills in food preparation and cooking
Experience in working with adolescents
Knowledge in Microsoft software
Strong communication skills both written & oral

The primary responsibility for this position is to coordinate and teach adolescents leadership and vocational skills in the arena of: nutrition, cooking, sewing and money management. You will assist with recruiting youth from community/faith based organizations and Chicago Public Schools, maintain records, develop exciting extra-curriculum activities.

Community Outreach Specialist:

v $22,000 - $27,000 per year with fringes based on educational skills and experience

Qualifications:

High School diploma, some college preferred
Knowledge of community conditions
Strong communication skills in both written and oral form
Knowledge in Microsoft software
Experience in case management

The primary responsibility of this position is to promote Sankofa Safe Child Initiative. You will be expected to conduct presentations about the services Sankofa provide to community/faith based organizations as well as on a local, state and federal level. You will be expected to attend community meetings sharing and receiving valuable information to enhance this organization and the village we serve.
